Editing Process (Final Image 1)

Here I want to show the editing process for my first image. I mixed up brushes with stock photo and apply some blend modes to creating effects.

Firstly, let's take a look for final image.

STEP 1:
Let's start by creating new document in Photoshop. Name this file as final image 1.psd.

STEP 2:
Open file, I picked up one image and here I choose 'Monumental Tombstone' as I want to put this image as background. Once import, drag it into empty background and place it above background layer & arrange to right side. Then, Clrt + T command to resize the size to match the background layer. Then, I want to made a copy for it by hold Alt + Shift key and drop it at left side, there was automatically created a copy for the layer.

STEP 3:
Then, select on each layer for two image and add some effect. First, right click on the layer than choose blending options, layer style box will be appear than make a bit less on opacity + add inner shadow effect to the image. As a result, the background image becomes more transparent. I also made adjustment for brightness/contrast to make smoothly look for the image.

STEP 4:
Next, import another image and I picked up image of 'Clock Tower' in the Dutch Square at Malacca City. Here, I want to apply other effect & put it between two background image. I apply Magnetic Lasso Tools to cut out just an image of clock tower alone, select and drag into background image. Then, from layer style lower on opacity a bit less and add drop shadow + increase more on underlying layer. I also make some  adjustment on size and rotate the image places.

STEP 5:
In this step, I import one by one images then apply some adjustment by rotate & resize the image then drag into the background image.I also arranged the places of all images to make more neatly together. Then, each image I put other effect by using stroke. From Edit Menu, select stroke and transform to each images so it apply as frames to the images. Then, add also drop shadow effect to make frames more smoothly appear outside images.

STEP 6:
Next, I import one image of 'Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka' and 'Keretapi Tanah Melayu'. Then, Ctrl + T command to resize & rotate the image, transform the effect and make 100% on opacity, make some adjustment and rearrange it to get 'Clock Tower' image appear smoothly inside this two images.

STEP 7:
Download a vintage paper note, open it in Photoshop. Now, I'm going to cut out the vintage paper note. Apply Magnetic Lasso Tools, cut out the image and automatically the vintage paper note is now selected. Ctrl + C command to copy selection, and paste it into the final image. Then, resize it and rotate a bit (Ctrl + T) and place it on the right.

Besides,  I also put some text on the note. Set the text color, font size and style to fit inside the vintage paper note. Then, this editing process was done.

Editing Process (Final Image 2)

Before this I show the editing process for my first image. Now, I want to continue the editing process for my second image. Here, I want apply effect to make the image more as vintage looks.

Now, let’s take a look for final image.

After that, import one image and I choose to download vintage filmstrip image on website and open it in Photoshop.  Drag and place it above background layer. Hit Ctrl + T command to resize image to fully fill up the whole background layer. As mention above I want to create vintage style for this image that’s why I choose filmstrip as background for my second final image.

STEP 2:
I found excellent picture of old diary book. Download and open it in Photoshop. Now, I’m going to cut out the diary book. I used Magnetic Lasso Tools to cut out the image, it was automatically selected and hit Ctrl + C command to copy the image selection, paste it into the filmstrip background image. I resize & rotate a bit (Ctrl + T) and place it somewhere in the center, but a little on the left.

Then, add some effect by right clicking on layer, choose blending option and layer style box were appear. Apply drop shadow + outer glow and make lower on opacity to 75%. Make some adjustment on blend mode structure for both effects to make it appear smoothly outside the diary book image.

STEP 3:

Then, I like to apply stroke effect, transform it for each images that I used to make frames outside the image. Next, I adjust blend mode by adding drop shadow (less opacity a bit to 30%) + outer glow (lower opacity to 75%).

STEP 4:
In this step, I want paperclip to hold this photo. So, download paperclip image and open it on Photoshop. Select the paperclip image and drag into the photo image layer. Adjust the size and rotate a bit on left side, it looks likely hold the photo.

Then, insert another image and I choose 'Muzium Samudera' image and put on lower position of first image. Add same effect like previous image.

STEP 5:
Now, I import two images and choose ‘Monumental Tobstone’ and ‘St Paul Church’. I apply drop shadow + outer glow effect and arrange the place at the back on diary book layer.

STEP 6:
Now let’s move on the right page of diary book. I want to put some text on this right side. I set the font and I used Poor Richard font, 12pt font size, and set the text color into black. Rotate & resize it to fit the right page of diary book. Then, to make the text more perfectly looks I apply drop shadow + outer glow effect and make adjustment on it.

STEP 7:
Lastly, download a red seal stamp on the web and open it on Photoshop. Apply Magnetic Lasso Tools and cut out this image, then drag above the diary book layer. Resize and place into empty space at lower position of the text.

Apply same effect and this editing process already finish perfectly.
